Name: Alstroemeria
Gender: Stallion
Age (yr 2): 3
Region: South
Physical Appearance: Named for the Peruvian lilies that grew thickly in his mother's lands, Alstroemeria is certainly as pretty as a flower. He has a handsome, refined head, with a shallow dish to his profile. His coffee-brown eyes are large and round, fringed by thick black lashes. He has a long, delicately arched neck that blends smoothly into a somewhat broad chest. His shoulders are sloping. He has a short back and a long, level croup. His tail is high set and he tends to carry it high, as an Arabian would. Alstroemeria's coat is speckled like his namesake's petals. The background is snowy white, marked seemingly randomly with dark chocolate spots. His legs are black up to the knee. His mane and tail are streaked creamy white and black. (Appaloosa x Arabian // Bay Leopard // 15hh)
Personality: He does his best to be brave and confident, knowing that the other stallions of Geneva Valley are eager to prey upon the week. He may act like an older, worldly stallion, but inside he's just as clueless as every other teen colt. He knows enough, though, to pick his fights and to snap up opportunities when they present themselves. Alstroemeria is determined to have a herd of his own and to treat his mares with kindness, motivated by the memory of his father's own beaten slaves. He loves any plant with a strong smell, especially the lily for which he is named.
History: Alstroemeria was born of a loving union between a Southern stallion and a Western mare. The two met in Homeless Landing while searching for herd members. Though they fought at first, they quickly discovered that they had a lot in common. They spent a week together, bonding and breeding. Neither was willing to give up their herd to go and live with the other. Instead they agreed to come and visit each other here every week. Alstroemeria was born a year into their relationship. His mother kept him with her until she was ready to wean him. Then she gave him over to his father to raise, not willing to enslave him as she did her other stallions. Though loving toward his mother, Alstro's sire was cruel toward his slaves. Seeing how they suffered made him resolve to treat his own mares better. When he became old enough to start his own herd, he left his sire to claim a land.
