Rules of the Road GENERAL |
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]No fighting. Geneva Valley is meant to be a fun and stress free place. All fighting is done in-character. Fighting out of character will be punished.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Don't use shorthand or text language, both in-character and out of character. Please use complete sentences and correct grammar and spelling. It is so much easier to read and understand what you are saying if you do.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]No double-posting. If you need to add something to your post, you can edit it. You do not need to make multiple posts in a row.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Please read the plot, which is provided in this board. This site won't make sense unless you do.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"] Activity Checks will be run at the Admin's discretion, but if we see that you are only getting on to post for the activity check you will not be counted. I hate to do this, but it is no fun RPing with people and then they don't come on after you have been back and forth for a couple of posts. This way the characters keep updated and people can RP with people who are actually on frequently. If you don't post in the activity check your account will be deleted.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Challenge yourself when RPing. There is no set word minimum, but try to post more than a sentence or two, give your posts some meat. This gives other members more to work with when replying. I for one find it rather annoying when I put in a lot of effort into making a good reply and the reply I get back is only a few short sentences. If you need help with this don't be afraid to post in the Need Help? board.
[/li][/ul]
ROLEPLAYING
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]No Power-Playing. This basically means that you are trying to control another player's character. An example would be auto-hitting. This is acceptable if the other member agrees to it.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Just because you know something doesn't mean your character does. So if you've talked to another player about something or another horse thinks something or is about to do something and doesn't say it, your character doesn't know, so don't say anything about it in your post, this would be considered powerplaying.
[/li][/ul]
CHARACTER CREATION
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]If you post in-character before your horse is accepted, all threads will be lock or deleted until you do.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Horses must be at least three years of age when they are created. We are not allowing random, parentless foals. If you want a foal, horses must be bred in-character.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"] No God-modelling, mary-sues or gary-sues. This means making a perfect, invincible character. No one is perfect and this includes your character. Horses can get hurt and they cannot be absolutely perfect in everything they do.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Keep it real, horses should look like horses. This is not a fantasy website where horses have wings or horns, etc. So keep that in mind when creating a character.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]There is not a character limit, but try and only create/adopt as many horses as you can handle. If you feel you have more than you can handle, you may put some up for adoption.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Characters are to be aged in the Fall season.[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Once a character reaches 30 years old they must die in some way.
[/li][/ul]
ABSENCES
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]If you do not come on and post for over a month, then you will be considered inactive and your characters will be archived.
[/li][/ul]
ADOPTION
[/font]
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]You can put any of your own characters up for adoption
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]If you want that character(s) back from the person who adopted it you can only have it back if he/she approves it. He/she doesn't have to approve it if he/she doesn't want to.
[/li][/ul]
BREEDING AND BIRTHING
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Mares must be 3 years or older to breed. NO EXCEPTIONS.[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Stallions cannot breed after 25 years old and Mares cannot breed after 20 years old.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"] To have a mare breed, simply fill out the information in the Breeding Grounds board. Within a few days a staff member will post the stats of the foal.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Foals may have defects or birthing complications. It is a natural part of life, thus it is a natural part of this roleplay.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]You may not post a graphic breeding or birth, this violates our PG-13 rule.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Once a mare has bred, they may not breed again until three seasons have passed.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Stallions are not allowed in the birthing grounds unless invited by the mare.
[/li][/ul]
HERD LANDS
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Only one land per horse.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Beta horses are allowed, but the lead of a land must agree to allow a beta.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Horses do not have to stay in their designated lands, but they may not switch lands all willy-nilly. Enslaved horses can change lands if they are captured, run away, or if the member playing the lead of the land you are in has been inactive without reason for more than 30 days.
[/li][/ul]
FIGHTING
[/li][/ul]
CAPTURE
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]They can fight their capture or go with them peacefully (if you decide to fight move to fight board).
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]If a leader gets captured or killed then their land is free to be reclaimed.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]The horse being captured has one week to respond, if they don't respond or someone steps in to respond for them (example: their herd leader or a friend fights to keep them) then they automatically are captured. An admin or a mod will let the ones involved know.
[/li][/ul]
PREDATORS
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]They must be purchased from the Bazaar before it can be created
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]A male and a female can mate, but they must be of the same species
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]They can go into different lands to hunt horses, but the horses can fight back
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]A fight between a horse and a predator doesn't have to be moved to the Battlegrounds board, unless you want to move it, but you must notify either Nat or the mod so they can decide who wins and what happens. The BATTLE RULES still apply.[/li][/ul]
RUNNERS AND WANDERERS
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]You can run away to a different land or you can run to one of the lands at The Edge of Geneva Valley.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Runners can be created, but they can be captured and enslaved just like any other horse.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]If you create a Wanderer you cannot claim a land with that horse. They never have a permanent home and go where they want. If you decide to change what they are then PM Nat so she can change the stats. You cannot change your character's all willy-nilly though.
[/li][li style="text-align:justify;"]Wanderers can be captured and enslaved just like any other horse.
[/li][/ul]
and last, but not least have fun!!!!![/div]
I trust each of you to uphold these rules. If they are not upheld I will punish accordingly. I am not here to be a bad guy I just want to have some good clean fun with other horse and RP lovers! Also, if you have any suggestions about anything just let me know by sending me a message. I take constructive criticism very well and I enjoy hearing other people's opinions. Thanks for playing and enjoy your time here at GENEVA VALLEY
