Name: Rhea
Gender: Mare
Age: Four years
Region: Runner (from the South)
Physical Appearance: Rhea is of quarter horse stock. She’s 15hh with long, swift legs that can outrun almost anyone within a quarter of a mile. Her fur, mane, and tail are all black as the night; the darkness of her body is only broken by a white slash of a blaze stretching down the length of her face. Rhea’s mother felt she was marked for beauty when she was born, and she would have if not for the many scars criss-crossing along most of her body.
Personality:
good: loyal, brave, independent, intelligent, resourceful
bad: hot-tempered, unsociable, distrustful, stubborn, prideful
History: With her hot-temper and prideful nature, Rhea never made a good slave. Ever since she was a child she was always fighting her masters, loathing them for the way they treated her, her mother, and later, her little sister, Cybele. She was always punished squarely for her disobedience, her masters believing harsher beating would eventually break her haughty spirit. This was never the case, and for years Rhea brooded in her hatred of her life and her herd. Her mother, Thea, died when Rhea was two years old and her sister Cybele a yearling. She spoke back to the leader of their herd and was beaten so severely she died hours later from her wounds. Rhea vowed that night as she lay beside her dying mother and crying sister that she would leave all of this. She would have run that night if Cybele had been strong enough, but Cybele had always been a sickly foal and she was too weak to outrun their guards. It took two years for Rhea to plan their escape, and it very nearly failed. Now the two are on the run heading East, hoping the stories their mothering told them were true and that there they will find freedom and a true herd for themselves.
