EDEN
Mare -- West -- 5 Years (ages in spring; 4 when created) -- Clydesdale -- 16hhAPPEARANCEEden looks as a horse of her breed should, powerful and solid. She is muscular and stoutly built, though still very much showing her feminine side. Eden sports a coat of a lovely deep bay color. All four of her legs are painted with white and are heavily feathered, while a classic white blaze frames her face. She carries the sabino gene, so her underbelly is splashed with white, and she shows a bit of the paint markings on her neck as well. Her mane and tail are a rich dark brown of a classic bay, and her eyes are a warm chocolate color. A few scars, most of them small, mark her coat here and there from her days in the South.
PERSONALooks can be deceiving. Though she appears powerful and like she could easily defend herself in a fight, Eden's personality is a submissive one. She is timid and skittish, and a bit pessimistic. She is quiet and shy, and she has a tendency to look down upon herself for one reason or another. She still has the mindset of a Southern slave, she never hesitates when she hears an order and she is eager to please. She herself knows that she would never fair well as a lead mare of a herd, but she could potentially shape up to be a good beta.PASTEden was born a happy filly in the East. She had a happy foalhood, until her mother was killed by a cougar when she was only a yearling. Eden had never known her father, so she was all alone. Eden didn't know what to do with herself, she was scared and alone even though she was in one of the safest places you could be for a young foal, in the peaceful Eastern lands. She scrambled all over, looking for someone to take care of her. In her panic, Eden had scrambled to Homeless Landing in the hopes of some mare from the West taking her under their wing. But the worse possible thing happened to her while she was there. Rather than being approached by a Western Mare, she was approached by a Southern Stallion. He had practically kidnapped her, and forced her into his lands. Being only a yearling, she couldn't really do much work, so Eden actually kind of enjoyed her life in the South. That was until she turned three, when she was considered an adult. The stallion who had claimed her beat her beyond the point of submission, then forced her to do the most grueling work. Wishing not to be beaten again, Eden did as she was told without any complaint, no matter how hard the work was. The stallion was impressed by Eden's work ethic, so he then forced her to breed. The foal that was born some time later was a filly. The stallion immediately killed the filly and beat Eden for not producing him a colt. She was sent back to work, and it was even harder than before. Finally, the Clydesdale mare found a break when the stallion was killed in a dispute over territory with another stallion. Taking her chance, like many in the herd did, Eden fled before the new stallion noticed her. She fled to the West, hoping to find sanctuary there just as she had wished when she was a yearling.
Having found a Western land to take her in, Eden has settled down a bit. She still has a severe fear of stallions, but she's learning.
