IKENNA
Stallion -- South -- 6 Years (ages in winter; 5 when created) -- Thoroughbred-Appaloosa Cross -- 16.3hhAPPEARANCEIkenna is a strange Appaloosa-Thoroughbred cross. One could call him uniquely handsome, or one could go so far as to call him bizarre and downright ugly. Whatever one's opinion may be, Ikenna stands just shy of 17 hands and has the lean, athletic build of a Thoroughbred. But his coloring, however, obviously comes from his Appaloosa bloodlines. His basecoat of black is topped with an extreme snowcap pattern, as shown in the picture above. His mane is white with black streaks, and his tail is the exact opposite, it is black with bits of white interspersed in it. His exposed skin shows the classic mottled coloring of the Appaloosa, and his blue eyes almost appear a ghostly white thanks to the visible white sclera.
PERSONAIkenna's personality is quite different from that of most Southern stallions. His ideals are not quite what the horses in the East follow, but he by no means follows the beliefs of Ares. He has no intention to keep mares as slaves or force them to work. Rather, his goal is to steal as many mares as he possibly can from stallions with such intentions, and offer them a peaceful, work-free life in his herd. To mares is he sweet and charming, he does not force anyone to do anything. The Southern stallions call him soft, but he is by no means so. One should not underestimate this strangely colored stallion, he packs a punch. He is strongwilled, and he will readily stand his ground, even if it could cost him his life. Ikenna will fight to the death to defend what he believes in.PASTIkenna is known as the "Robin Hood" of the South or the "Phantom of the Night". He was born to a stallion of the South and one of his fathers slaves. He had grown up being taught the ways of a typical Southern stallion. But it was the one who taught him the Southern ways who also drove Ikenna away from the beliefs. His father was a particularly brutal stallion, who would readily kill one of his slaves for the most idiotic of reasons. Ikenna's father keeps you Ikenna close to him, meaning that he witnessed many of his father's merciless killings of his enslaved mares. So, from a young age Ikenna vowed that he would never end up like his father. When Ikenna turned 3 and was able to claim his own land, he took a different approach to leading a herd in the South. Ikenna snuck into the territories of other stallions, often at night, and stole a mare or two from them. He brought them back to his land and he never made them forcefully work a day in their lives. The other stallions of the South despise Ikenna for this. Recently, Ikenna's land was struck by a massive Earthquake, destroying the land and killing all of his mares. So, Ikenna is now in search of a new territory where he can resume his mission.
Having claimed new land, Ikenna has restarted is former mission. While a bit rusty, Ikenna snatched away a mare and her foal from a particularly cruel stallion. The long term success of his efforts remains to be seen, but thus far they are safe with him. Along with the mare and her foal, Ikenna has rescued two other mares from the homeless grounds before they were ever taken under the rule of a slaveowner.
