Name: Notus
Gender: Stallion
Age (yr 2): 7
Region: East
Physical Appearance: Notus is an ominous stud, standing an easily towering 17.1 hands. He has long, sloping shoulders that connect to long, big boned legs. It's the same when you look at his haunches. They're well rounded and powerful, often bunched together like a spring, coiled tightly. Though he's definitely not the most agile or quick animal in the book, what he lacks in speed he makes up for and sheer brute strength, and stamina. Both his mustang and draft heritage make him hardy and thick-skinned. His substantial bone and take a pounding, from attackers and galloping alike. His lungs are massive thanks to his size, and have considerable room to expand to maximum capacity, giving him the ability to run longer than one would expect for an animal of his size and stature.
Personality: Notus has a wide variety of emotions. In short, he's Notus. But if I must go into detail, I shall. Firstly, Notus is extremely dependable. He speaks honestly, whether the truth is brutal or not. He's fearless, as well, which those two attributes go somewhat hand in hand. By being fearless, he is not afraid to speak his mind, no matter the consequences. And by no matter the consequences, I mean he will break your heart without a second thought, if it's the truth. Definitely not the type you should ask "Do I look fat in this dress?"
He's uniquely confident, reliable, encouraging, and rather exuberant. At times he can be like a yearling frolicking in a field of flowers. Astounded and amazed by the simplest things, its easy to impress Notus, and he often shows it with a flamboyant skip and a jump, and an excited smile. He'll make you laugh constantly, and do his best to be whatever you want him to be! But despite all the good characteristics about our valiant little(big) mustang cross is quite quarrelsome. It doesn't take much to tip off his temper, and when you do, duck and cover. He throws his entire being for a fight he believes in and can be pretty sadistic about his violent encounters, often leaving his opponent injured, or worse, and caring very little.
History: Notus grew up in your average herd. He stood out awfully easily in the heard, his unique markings making him both a fillies colt(haha, like ladies man, get it?) and envied by the other male's. He was the prized heir of the herd, and this angered one of the older colt's. He was two when Notus turned six months old, and though the other colts would be exiled from the herd by the turn of their third year, this particular bay colt, Aros, was destined to take over the lead position. A power hungry fool he was. But when their father, the current lead stallion decided Notus was to take his position, and hopefully pass on his unique chocolate tiger stripes, and this infuriated Aros.
Along came Notus's second year of life, and the lead stallion was falling ill. It was time for Notus to rise to his full potential. Aros, who was exiled along with the other three year olds had never left though. He crept through the shadows, following their every move. And when the lead took his last breath, and Notus was crowned king as a lanky two year old, Aros burst from the darkness and tore into him.
The two year old stood little chance against the bigger four year old, and was lucky to limp away with his life. Notus, who had been troubled taking over the herd, hardly understood why he had to walk away with scars. But the experience hardened him, and by the time Notus turned four as well, he'd easily forgotten about the herd he left behind and set out to start his own family-- his own life. So for two entire years he traveled. Looking for the perfect place to start his reign. And he found it.
