Name: Grae
Gender: Mare
Age : 5
Region: Runner (from the South)
Physical Appearance: Grae is very much an old fashioned Quarter Horse build with much of the 'bulldog' look to her. He reaches a towering 15 hands but has a severe case of short person syndrome. Grae has a short muscular neck that has a feminine head to complete her feminine look. Her coloring is the only thing about her that would make her stand out from any other horse but even that isn't all that amazing, she is a red dun roan. Her hindquarters are wide and powerful though she is not built for long distances speeds she is best at short distance spurts. It depends on the day what side of her neck her red mane falls on, her appearance never really bothered her. The only reason she uses her womanly ways is to get her way. Grae has a huge hindering she has been slowly going deaf since the moment she was born, by the time she reaches her teen years they predict that she will be completely deaf.
Personality: A child of two malicious heartless parents will follow their footprints nine times out of ten, and Grae is no exception. Selfish while many horses are looking out for the good of the herd Grae is looking out for herself, what will get her further a head in life and what will be the best for her. There is an exception to every rule and the only exception is her family, she is Family oriented the family must be placed first, but by family she really only means her kids and grandkids. A master at getting what she wants she has found that being manipulative is the best way to get whatever she wants, she can bat her eyes and act like a damsel in distress for hours if that is what someone wants and it gets her closer to her foal. In a new area that she is unfamiliar with she is slightly skittish because of the fact that she is slowly going deaf and at the moment is roughly thirty percent deaf.
While growing up in a world where you can really rely on only yourself and your Mother Grae has become very untrusting of other equine. It takes her a fair amount of time until she will actually begin to trust an equine or atleast stop thinking that they are going to try to kill her in her sleep. Over the years of being so paranoid has made her extremely observant she uses this as both a way to see if the horse is trust worthy, but also to spot their weaknesses so she can turn around and use them against the horse. Sadistic even as a foal Grae found great pleasure in causing other horses pain, though she prefers emotional pain over physical pain. If she has found herself an enemy she makes it a goal to make them suffer as much as possible until she grows bored with them. She has an awful temper and when she gets fired up she often bites off more than she can chew, it doesn't matter if she is outsized she will bow up to almost anyone if they push the wrong buttons.
History: Grae was bred, born, and raised in the south. She was a third generation slave, and her line survived in the slave world because the masters they were traded to were quite obsessed with roan colored mares and wanted to continue on with the roan coloring in their herd. Grae was kept in the herd she was born in till she was two and she was traded to another stallion, even with her deaf ears she was still worth three bay fillies, and a gray mare. Its one of the things that still haunt her to this day that she was 'priced'. Tired of being pushed around and beaten by the stallion she began stirring the mares up and soon there was a revolution when she was three years old which gave her a chance to run, only to be caught by the neighboring stallion. The freedom while shortly lived was glorious and it instilled a new rebellious streak in her, she began to fight back even harder against the stallion and put up with the hell hole she found herself in for another two years before she was able to break free completely and now has been wandering for a couple months.
