Before you go and challenge another player's character for whatever reason you MUST read these rules. We want to keep this RP fair and simple. Read through these carefully.
Example of acceptable terms- Sable speaking to Riha: "If I am the victor of this battle, then I get dibs on all those living in the territory and Orbit Lake is mine to lead. If I win then you, Riha, are banished from the territory and will be killed if you return."
Then Riha can respond with something like this:"And if I am to win I get to keep my land and all those living within. You cannot challenge me again and are henceforth banished from Orbit Lake."
With both mares in agreement to the terms, Sable smirked. The real battle has begun. Tensing the sooty buckskin made the first move. Charging the larger mare, Sable reared and let her front hooves fly, hoping to land a decent blow to her opponent's neck or chest. Falling back to all fours, Sable retreated and looked to see what kind of damage she caused.
And Riha's response: The thoroughbred mare had not been expecting such a quick strike from her little challenger. Rearing back as the mustang mare gave the first attack, Riha managed to avoid most of the blows, but she felt one land and slash low on her neck, where a bit of blood began to well. As his challenger began to retreat from his attack, the chestnut mare gave chase, biting sharply at the sooty mare's hindquarters.
HOW BATTLES ARE JUDGED:
You may be wondering how the victor will be decided. A member of staff will look for these things in the battle.
Got the idea? Remember that only a member of staff can decide the outcome of a battle. Failure to follow any of these rules little win an automatic win to your opponent! If you have any questions about the rules of a battle PM Nat. Good Luck!
- Only a member of staff can determine the winner of a fight.
- All battles must be IC.
- Challenges can be for just about anything relevant to the horse world: a lead attempting to overthrow another lead and claim their territory and herd, a lead attempting to steal a single slave from another lead, mares fighting over a foal, slaves fighting for their freedom, etc.
- It must be clear who is challenging who, and for what. To keep things simple, the first post of a challenge should look something like this, at minimum:
- Once the challenger's opponent responds, terms and conditions can be set, though they are not required. The terms of a fight is what each gets if they are to win. Don't make your terms too extreme.
- Once terms are set and both agree then the real battle begins. NO POWERPLAYING when in battle. You cannot automatically kill your opponent, and you cannot determine how exactly the opponent is hurt. In regards to that your horse is not invincible and can get hurt. Keep it fair and in order. Battle sequences can be something like this:
With both mares in agreement to the terms, Sable smirked. The real battle has begun. Tensing the sooty buckskin made the first move. Charging the larger mare, Sable reared and let her front hooves fly, hoping to land a decent blow to her opponent's neck or chest. As his challenger began to retreat from his attack, the chestnut mare gave chase, biting sharply at the sooty mare's hindquarters.
- It will go on like this for three more posts. The real battle lasts for a total of five posts. Only one attack and one defense can be made per post. The very first post can only be an attack and the very last post can only be a defense. Those posts are by the same person. Therefore, the first person to attack will have three posts while the other person will only have two.
- Once both members have posted twice, wait for a staff member to decide who wins.
- There is a 15 day posting deadline for each post. If you do not post within 15 days after the other member's post, your post will be deemed invalid and the other member automatically wins the fight.
- A horse may back down from a fight once the battle has began, resulting in an automatic win for the other player.
- REMEMBER: The injuries each horse sustains will affect them outside of battle. Horses will not automatically heal after a battle, and you will need to incorporate the injuries outside of your posts.
HOW BATTLES ARE JUDGED:
You may be wondering how the victor will be decided. A member of staff will look for these things in the battle.
- The injuries that the character sustained. Severity and the location of the wound will decide which horse will recover more quickly.
- The variety/creativity of attacks. A player who uses a different attack for each post will be more likely to win over a player who uses the came attack the whole time.
- A player who uses correct grammar, spelling and writes in complete sentences will more than likely win over a player who writes in chatspeak.
